Fratricidal Hindus and caste based hate reasons for their decline in South Asia-Tarun Vijay

4th March 2012-New Delhi

BJP MP and a known RSS ideologue Tarun Vijay’s book launch at International Book Fair, New Delhi created sensation as a highly respected scholar and Hindi litterateur Dr Namvar Singh released it along with another left to the centre giant Dr V.N.Rai, Chancellor of International Gandhi Hindi University, Wardha. Dr Namvar Singh said that he is an avid reader of Tarun Vijay’s columns and wishes him well. Tarun Vijay said that he is grateful to Dr Namvar singh who has shown the Indian path of mutual respect for other view points as ideological differences shouldn’t be turned into enmity and this event has proved the quintessential pluralistic spirit that defines India.

The book launch attracted a huge crowd as a number of top Hindi writers and editors were present including Shri Om Thanvi, Chief Editor, Jansatta , Mr. Prakash Singh, former Director General, BSF, noted poetess Nirmala Jain, author Se Ra Yatri and fans of Tarun Vijay.

The book, containing many controversial chapters was sold out immediately. Tarun Vijay has argued in the book that Inspite of modern Hindus rising phenomenally in education and social status, their political decline in the entire south Asia is mainly due to the caste based discriminations prevailing in society and Hindu double standards and hypocricy.

The book is a collection of essays attacking double standards and the inherent social anomalies amongst the Hindus. It asks why Mirchpurs occur frequently and how come so called Hindu sirens have turned into mere postmen of complaints and record keepers of Hindu woes.

He said that the Hindus are inherently opposed to any kind of extremism, they have been victims of hate and extremist ideologies, but if some elements try to adopt the path of extremism, it will negate and defeat the very idea of Hindutva. The only way to resist assaults is through reforms and consolidation, he said.

The book criticises Hindus for their hypocritical and disjointed responses to the challenges of the modern era. From Kashmir to Kasargod, the Hindu assertions have become unacceptable and are frowned upon. Though Hindus have risen phenomenally in science, technology, wealth creation and political influence individually, their social impact has remained confined to building new fabulous temples and helping their kith and kin rather than eradicating social stigmas of casteism , 'auctions ' of bridegrooms in the marriage 'market', female foeticide and violent opposition to Hindu intercaste marriages .

Tarun Vijay has argued in this book, titled Man Ka Tulsi Chaura ( sacred sapling in the soul's courtyard) published by Vani Prakashan, that the failure of Hindus in accelerating socio-religious reforms through clean and orderly temples , rivers and pilgrim centres, reflecting the spirit of the new Hindu, encouraging Sanskrit , institutionalising studies of the assaults on their soul from various internal and external factors and most importantly ensuring decision making positions to young leaders from scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, has resulted in widening Hindu divisions from within. The social engine sectors like media, apparatus of governance and judiciary have very negligible percentage of the SCs and STs , not representing their real social power and numbers,he has written.

From Pakistan to Bangla Desh and Nepal to Bhutan and Sri Lanka, Hindus are on defensive , population on a decrease and their political clout low unprecedently, Tarun said. And ironically it's the Christian America that comes to help Hindus in these countries rather than any one from India, the book laments.

Therefore rather than complaining about Christians and Muslims, Hindus must look inward, introspect and make corrections, Tarun Vijay says in the book. The hope for Hindus lies in the success of movements like Swaminarayan, Gayatri Pariwar, RSS and Mata Amritanandmayee, the book argues.

This time it's not the Turks and Arabs, but the Hindus themselves who have wrecked the cause of their ilk defeating Hindu political solidarity through backstabbing fraternal forces, the book argues, which attracted a huge crowd at the selling counter on the last day of the Book Fair.

Dear Sir,

I want to ask you, what do you know about caste system in india, other than the missionary materials?

Has any organisation, or academia, took up proper study of our hindu society, after independance? NO..

So when the hindu society is NOT even studied or understood properly, in what way are you criticising the caste system, which is actually the strength of Hindu Society?

It is so called Hindu Intellectuals like you, who are destroying the very fabric of our bharatheeya society.

Its time to challenge people like you, to set many of the mis-conceptions..

The next time, before you make any adverse comments on caste system, pls question yourself about your understanding of our society.

regards,
A Caste Hindu
